POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing all financial aspects of donor accounts and relationships.  Specific responsibilities include donor communications; data management of donor pledges and payments; billing and collections of unpaid pledges; analysis and reporting of campaign collection results; training and support to other departmental staff, corporate coordinators and other campaign volunteers.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                                                 

Data Management (50%)

Responsible for data entry and processing of customer pledges and payments; research and analysis of customer accounts to ensure accurate system postings and adjustments, ensuring that benefits are going to the correct agencies; write-off of uncollectible pledge receivable balances with proper authorization from management; correcting system errors, taking into consideration impacts on the general ledger; providing system reports needed by Finance and other departments.

Donor Communications (20%)

Responsible for daily communication with donors regarding inquiries on their accounts; annual mailing to donors of donation acknowledgements for tax purposes; other periodic mailings to donors regarding billing and account information.

Billing and Collection (20%)

Responsible for periodic billing of unpaid pledges; review of significant pledge balances due; determining areas of unpaid pledges to be focused on for collection; determining appropriate approach and level of aggressiveness in pursuing collections; pursuing collections, and analysis and reporting of collection results; ensuring legal compliance in resolving with companies their unpaid payroll deduction pledges. 

Training and Support (10%)

Responsible for providing customer account information and system support and training to the other departments of the organization and campaign volunteers; support the Finance Department in the training of the corporate coordinators of the proper processes and documentation needed for a successful campaign.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  

Bachelor’s Degree required in finance, accounting or business

Experience in broad aspects of financial accounting, with concentration in data management, billing and/or collections

Minimum two years related work experience and strong computer systems/database background

Experience with various database systems, analysis and reporting

PC Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
