Greensboro, NC - On Saturday, February 27 at 10:00 am, United Way Young Leaders will be gathering to do some spring cleaning at Bell House on 2400 Summit Avenue. United Way Young Leaders, a donor group of United Way of Greater Greensboro’s young professionals between the ages of 22-45, will be preparing to pressure wash the exterior of the visitation house, clean windows, tend to the landscape, clean gutters and paint chairs. This will all be done with two end goals in mind; getting Bell House’s visitation house ready for spring while providing a more welcoming facility for Bell House residents.
Bell House is a unique environment for adults with orthoneurological and physical disabilities allowing residents a chance for freedom and independence. Bell House enables residents to live independently but with the support and care that their physical conditions require.
United Way of Greater Greensboro has been partnering with Bell House on projects since late 2009. Tomorrow, United Way Young Leaders will be assisting with the visitation house. This home, on the property of Bell House, allows the residents a space to entertain their families, friends and others, away from their rooms and the high-traffic communal areas of the main facility. A solid structure, the visitation house needs cosmetic enhancements and some care by way of cleaning. “As Young Leaders, we dedicate our talent and time to positively impact United Way partner agencies and programs. Through our work with these agencies and programs, we develop a greater understanding of the effort and strategy behind the work of United Way of Greater Greensboro to better serve our community,” says Crystal Edwards Oldham, Communications Chair for United Way Young Leaders.
United Way Young Leaders mission is to make a positive and lasting impact throughout the Greater Greensboro community by mobilizing active young professionals who are actively seeking ways to give, advocate, and volunteer through United Way of Greater Greensboro. United Way Young Leaders give annual membership gifts of $120.
