PARTICIPATE IN UNITED WAY’S ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK CHALLENGE

Spring break looks a little different this year.
And so do your opportunities to give back and make a difference.

The challenge works like this:

  1. Complete three Alternative Spring Break challenges by March 2. Learn something new and give back to your local community.
  2. Submit your video and two screenshots as proof that you completed the challenges.
  3. Get invited to an exclusive wrap party on March 4, 4:30-5:30 p.m. (Zoom). You’ll meet local leaders and two lucky participants will be randomly selected to win cool prizes.
  4. Add the experience to your resume (volunteer section)!

CHALLENGE ONE

Video record yourself reading one of the approved Dr. Seuss Books for United Way’s Dr. Seuss Day Celebration. See a list of books and tips AND upload your video here.

CHALLENGE TWO

Try to break the cycle of poverty using United Way’s online poverty simulator. It’s harder than you think! Upload a screenshot of your results.

CHALLENGE THREE

Spread the word about United Way’s work to end poverty. Post this image on social media with a caption on why ending local poverty matters to you. Use the hashtags #EndPovertyGSO and #UWGGASB. Don’t have social media? No problem. Text a friend or family member. Upload a screenshot of your post or message.
