United Way Day of Action

June 21, 2022 – June 22, 2022 all-day

Every year, United Ways across the country participate in a national day of service called DAY OF ACTION.

For this year’s Day of Action, United Way of Greater Greensboro is partnering
with The Volunteer Center of the Triad to build BEAT THE HEAT kits for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

We will be working with the Interactive Resource Center and Partners Ending Homelessness to distribute the kits, but we need your help to collect the items in the kits that will make summer a bit more bearable for the homeless population of Greensboro. Items will be collected until June 20th.

To donate items directly, you can drop them off at 1500 Yanceyville Street, or you can host your own kit drive
in your neighborhood, workplace, place of worship, or wherever you gather with folks who want to help make a difference!

Items for the kits may include:

Reusable Bags
Reusable water bottle
Small handheld fans
Lip Balm
Bug Spray
Cooling towels
Nutrigrain bars

Setting up a drive is easy – all you need is a box and a drop off location.

See the instructions for setting up your own drive and download a sign to put up at your drop off location.
