Celebrating The People and Partnerships Moving Greensboro Forward
What moves a community forward?
At United Way of Greater Greensboro’s Annual Meeting & Celebration, the answer was clear: people willing to show up for one another, work together, and believe a stronger future is possible.
Community leaders, partners, donors, volunteers, and advocates gathered at Revolution Mill for an evening rooted in a shared commitment to Greensboro and inspired by one powerful idea: when we rise together, lasting change becomes possible.
Throughout the evening, the community celebrated the partnerships and people helping create clearer paths out of poverty for families across greater Greensboro — and reflected on the momentum that continues to grow when organizations, businesses, neighbors, and community leaders unite around shared solutions.
The program honored individuals and organizations whose leadership and generosity continue to strengthen Greensboro and expand opportunity throughout our community.
This year’s honorees included:

- Roots Award — The Joseph M. Bryan Foundation of Greater Greensboro and The William Morrisette Family
- Community Bridge Award — Michelle Schneider
- Gate City Impact Award — Jim & Debra Bingham
- Heart of Greensboro Award — International Civil Rights Center & Museum
- Community Builder Award — Parker White
- Key to the Community Award — Beacon Technologies
- Spirit of NC Award — Cone Health and Electric Supply & Equipment
Each recognition reflected a shared belief that ending poverty requires more than one organization or one solution. It takes relentless collaboration, bold leadership, and a community willing to move forward together.
Throughout the evening, one message remained clear: Greensboro moves forward when people and organizations unite around shared solutions bold goals, and a belief that lasting change is possible.
"At United Way of Greater Greensboro, we believe our community’s greatest strength is its willingness to work together. This evening reminded us that progress happens when people stay rooted in community, united in purpose, and committed to building what’s possible together."
Presented with support from ITG Brands, the celebration served as both a recognition of progress and a reminder that the work continues. Because poverty is complex — but Greensboro’s response is united.
