United Way of Greater Greensboro (UWGG) has announced its 2026–2027 Strategic Investments, committing more than $2 million to support local programs and partnerships that help families navigate hardship, build stability, and create measurable pathways beyond poverty.
The investments align with UWGG’s focus on creating a thriving community through strategic collaboration, shared accountability, and community-centered solutions that address the complex challenges contributing to poverty.
Through these investments, UWGG continues to unite nonprofits, businesses, schools, funders, volunteers, and community leaders around one shared goal: creating clearer paths forward for families across our community.

Investing in a Thriving Greensboro
United Way of Greater Greensboro’s 2026–2027 Strategic Community Investments are organized around two complementary approaches that help families move from hardship toward long-term stability and opportunity.
Bold Goal Grants
Bold Goal Grants support programs that directly contribute measurable progress toward our community’s Bold Goal of moving 3,000 households beyond the federal poverty line by 2030.
These investments focus on helping households increase income above the federal poverty line while tracking and measuring collective progress toward this shared community goal.
Community Impact Grants
Community Impact Grants support organizations that help households experiencing poverty and financial hardship navigate challenges and build stronger futures.
These investments focus on three key areas that create the foundation for thriving communities:
Youth Opportunity
Helping children and young people succeed through education, mentorship, and opportunities that prepare them for the future.
Financial Security
Supporting pathways to employment, income growth, financial stability, and economic mobility.
Healthy Community
Expanding access to health, wellness, and essential supports that help individuals and families thrive.
