United Way’s Young Leaders Expect Over 2,500 Attendees at Annual Trunk-or-Treat, October 27

Greensboro, NC (October 10, 2019) – Fall is here and Halloween is fast approaching. Over two thousand children and adults are expected to join the fun at United Way of Greater Greensboro’s Trunk-or-Treat hosted by Young Leaders. The event will take place on Sunday October 27, 2 – 4 p.m. in the parking lot of United Way, 1500 Yanceyville Street, Greensboro.

United Way’s annual Trunk-or-Treat is a fun and safe event that is free and open to the public. Volunteers creatively decorate the trunks of their vehicles and fill them with candy and healthy treats for children and families to enjoy.

The first 2,000 attendees will receive a voucher for a free kid’s meal at Texas Roadhouse and 150 lucky attendees will also receive a voucher for a free biscuit at Biscuitville. Free popcorn will be available for all attendees to enjoy thanks to Let’s Keep it Poppin’.

Thanks to many generous candy drive hosts and sponsorship from Cone Health, Lincoln Financial Group, Truliant Federal Credit Union, WellCare Health Plans of North Carolina, and one anonymous donor, volunteers will be able to pass out almost 500 pounds of candy and healthy snacks.

In addition to candy, there will be thousands of toothbrushes, tubes of toothpaste and healthy snacks and beverages distributed thanks to Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Company at Brown Summit, Touloupas & Touloupas Dentistry, and Coke Consolidated.

Luke Akers, national racing champion, will be in attendance with his race car along with representatives from the Greensboro Fire Department.

Historically, parents who bring their children to Trunk-or-Treat say they prefer the event over traditional trick-or-treating because it’s during the day, making it safer for their children.

The event will also feature face painting, fall and Halloween themed games and prizes, and music by Best Night Ever DJ and Events.

Interested community members are invited to host a trunk or a candy drive to support the event. For more details, visit unitedwaygso.org/trunk.
