Community Ambassador Award: 
Heather Milligan 
Heather Milligan was recognized for decades of volunteer 
leadership inspired by United Way’s goal of helping 3,000 
households move beyond poverty by 2030.
Ambassador Award: Katherine Ashby
Katherine Ashby received recognition for her leadership 
and collaborative work with Cone Health to support United 
Way’s efforts to reduce poverty across Greater Greensboro.
Key to the Community Award: Syngenta
Through its 2024 “Grow United, Live United” campaign, 
Syngenta raised more than $263,000 — surpassing 
its fundraising goal by more than 
$38,000 — while increasing employee 
participation and engagement. 
From creative events and volunteer-driven activities 
to year-round support of United Way’s work, 
Syngenta continues to demonstrate leadership 
through partnership, generosity, and sustained 
community investment.
