Allison joined the Family Success Center in 2022 with one clear goal: to earn her GED. She dedicated herself to classes, showing her children that “mommy was trying hard” and modeling what perseverance looked like. Along the way, she also enrolled in Money Management, Job Readiness, and fitness classes—building skills not just for a diploma, but for life.
Balancing motherhood and education wasn’t easy. At one point, Allison stepped away from her GED classes to work. But with encouragement from her Coach, she realized she didn’t have to choose—she could keep working part-time while continuing her studies. Fueled by determination, Allison returned to class. In November 2023, all her effort paid off—she passed all four GED tests and earned her diploma. She killed the exams!
With her GED in hand, Allison and her Coach began talking about next steps. Through career research and coaching sessions, Allison discovered her passion for Early Childhood Education.
Together, they refreshed her interview skills, and soon she landed a part-time job as an Early Childhood Teacher. Allison thrived in the classroom, and after her first year, she took another bold step: applying to the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential Program. For a full year, she balanced work, classes, and coaching sessions. In July 2025, she proudly completed all requirements—including her professional development visit and exam—and was awarded her CDA.
